Philotimo

Being a cashier for a small independent Greek business allowed my co-workers and me to connect on an intimate level. Philotimo is a Greek word with no direct translation. It is the sense of how people feel about humanity, which becomes the binding undercurrent that unites us together, giving us feelings of honor, empathy, and respect towards one another. Capturing the time spent with each other sparked an admiration for the moments I spent with them and the deli itself.
